Hello lovely readers! My Goodreads tbr has been blowing up like crazy with all the awesome books coming out lately so today I'm going to do the Down the TBR Hole tag. Thank you so much to Ben for recommending this tag and to the original creator Lia.
Here's how the tag works:
- Go to your goodreads to-read shelf.
- Order on ascending date added.
- Take the first 5 (or 10 (or even more!) if you’re feeling adventurous) books. Of course, if you do this weekly, you start where you left off the last time.
- Read the synopses of the books
- Decide: keep it or should it go?
I'll Give You the Sun by Jandy Nelson
This book has been so highly recommended to me that I don't know that I can take it off my TBR. It always takes me forever to get around to emotional, queer books because I'm never sure if I can handle them, but I really need to get a copy of this one. The awards it has won alone make it sound amazing.
Verdict: Still on my TBR

The Outsiders by S.E. Hinton
Hmmm... I added this to my TBR back in the day because it was a classic and I like the idea of reading the classics, especially YA classics. If I'm being honest though, I'm probably never going to make this book a priority. It's gonna get the chopping block. (Plus, isn't the author the worst? I've heard she's the worst.)
Verdict: Never gonna read it

My True Love Gave to Me edited by Stephanie Perkins
I love this book! The only reason it is still on my TBR is because I haven't read all of the stories yet so it hasn't made it to my "read" shelf. Maybe this Christmas will be the year I read them all!
Verdict: Still on my TBR

The Language of Flowers by Vanessa Diffenbaugh
I love the language of flowers and have ever since I read Nancy Springer's Enola Holmes books as a kid. I bought this book years ago but I take so long to get around to reading adult fiction when I have so many good YA books to read. I do still want to read it though, so it will stay for now.

The Rook by Daniel O'Malley
This book still sounds amazing. It's an adult, urban fantasy about secret organizations in Britain which really sounds like my jam. I get so nervous reading adult fantasy by white guys I don't know much about, but this has a good rating from a reviewer I trust, so maybe I'll go for it. It's not likely I'll get around to it, but I'll keep it for right now!

Okay, so I didn't take too many things off my TBR (Whoops.) I'll definitely do this tag again soon and hopefully trim down my list a little bit more. Let me know if you have any books you've taken off of your TBR lately and why you decided not to read them!
