Hello lovely readers! I'm back again with a second round of the Down the TBR Hole tag, originally created by Lia. You can check out my first round of this tag here. Hopefully I can cut down my TBR by a few more books this time!
Here's how the tag works:
- Go to your goodreads to-read shelf.
- Order on ascending date added.
- Take the first 5 (or 10 (or even more!) if you’re feeling adventurous) books. Of course, if you do this weekly, you start where you left off the last time.
- Read the synopses of the books
- Decide: keep it or should it go?
The Witch's Daughter by Paula Brackston
I was really ready to keep this book on my TBR because witches with a mix of both historical and modern fantasy sounds just like my jam. Unfortunately I just read some of the reviews and it sounds like it's a no-go for me. The super creepy-sounding love interest is really not for me. It's a shame because I LOVE this cover.
Verdict: Never gonna read it

Paper Things by Jennifer Richard Jacobson
This book sounds like a beautiful middle grade about sibling love in the midst of terrible situations. It sounds wonderful, but I don't really think it's the kind of book I'm interested in right now. I read so few middle grade books as it is.
Verdict: Never gonna read it

Soulless by Gail Carriger
I love historical fantasy and this book sounds witty and wonderful. Honestly. the only reason I haven't gotten to this one is probably because I own it in the mass market paperback and I find those so hard to read. Maybe I will pick up a new copy soon and try this one out!
Verdict: Still on my TBR

Legacy of Kings by Eleanor Herman
I was really hyped for this book when it first came out because a historian writing historical fantasy sounded like a recipe for awesome. However, I really have too many fantasy series bogging down my TBR because it takes so long for me to get to them. Plus, the reviews say this one moves slowly. I'm sadly never going to get to it.

The Paper Magician by Charlie N. Holmberg
This premise and cover are so good but the reviews are so bad! If it had come out recently I'd probably still give it a try, but as it is I'm not hyped about it anymore and the reviews really aren't good. Unless I hear a first-hand recommendation from a friend, I won't be reading this book.

Last time I only cut one book and this time I only kept one book! At least my TBR pile is starting to go down a bit. Thank you guys for reading and let me know if you've added any good books to your TBR lately.
