Just Sit: A Meditation Guidebook for People Who Know They Should But Don't by Sukey Novogratz and Elizabeth Novogratz ★★★★☆
Every Heart a Doorway by Seanan McGuire ★★★★★
The Song of Achilles by Madeline Miller ★★★★☆
Starfish by Akemi Dawn Bowman ★★★★★
Pillow Thoughts by Courtney Peppernell ★★★★★
When the Moon Was Ours by Anna-Marie McLemore ★★★★★
The Cruel Prince by Holly Black ★★★★★
Highs and lows
It's so hard to pick a favorite book from May because I read so many amazing ones! If I had to choose though, I think I would pick Every Heart a Doorway by Seanan McGuire. It was really the perfect book for me. It was so nostalgic and had amazing ace rep!
I didn't dislike any book I read this month, but I definitely took issue with some of the sexism in The Song of Achilles by Madeline Miller. I know it's an Iliad retelling, but I wished she had changed some things to make it less terrible to all the female characters.
