What is the Summer Blogger Promo Tour (SBPT)?
The Summer Blogger Promo Tour is a summer tour that Jessica, Amber and Emily over at The Book Bratz have put together that helps a bunch of bloggers both new and old link up with each other and collab on fun posts throughout the summer!
I will be posting a collaborative post with my partner Dana @ DanaSquare every Sunday during July and August!

Meet my partner: Dana has been blogging at DanaSquare since 2011, or rather attempting to, and since 2011 she has graduated from High School and College. She is currently pursuing a career in publishing after over seven different internships. When she isn’t reading or working on novels with Stephanie from In Wonderland, you can find her baking or watching a TV show but you can be sure there is a cup of coffee in her hand at all times. |

Last Book Read: To Kill a Kingdom by Alexandra Christo
This epic fantasy novel follows a siren who must kill and take the heart of a prince to gain power and a prince who is also a pirate and siren killer. They both want to save their kingdom’s from tyrannical leaders while keeping secrets from each other. Of course, the two fall in love as expected but for me the real high point of the story is the world building. The siren and mermaid lore follows the Little Mermaid story, however it is significantly darker, and was unlike anything I have ever read about the creature. I listened to this book on audio and felt very invested in the story to the point that I needed to keep listening so I cleaned my entire room. Where the story falls short for me is the development of the characters and the relationships it was predictable and lacked the depth that I wanted. I think fans of Leigh Bardugo will enjoy this book!
Current Read: City of Ashes by Cassandra Clare
I know what you’re thinking, how have you not read this book before? I have, but not for a very long time and I never finished the series. I am working on rereading the first three and hopefully catching up on all things Shadowhunters, including The Infernal Devices (I only read Clockwork Angel) and The Dark Artifices.
Next Up on the TBR: Grace and Fury by Tracy Banghart
This YA fantasy follows sisters who face a society of oppression and must fight for survival; one in the palace and one from a prison. It sounds really cool and I am in love with the cover!
Favorite TV Show: Buffy the Vampire Slayer
I’ve loved Buffy since I was five years old so as a 22 year old it is difficult to put into words what it means to me. Buffy showed me that girls could be the hero of the story and save the world a lot. But it also demonstrates the power of friendship because sometimes the chosen one can’t do it all by herself and that’s okay. I loved the action and the vampires and that it followed a funny flawed female. Plus you know a show is great if they could pull off a random musical episode!
Currently Watching TV: Younger
I think Younger is the show that every booknerd needs to watch because it surprisingly shows the most realistic view of the publishing industry that I have ever seen in a show or a movie. But beyond that it follows a 40 year old woman who is recently divorced and has an empty nest so she tries to get a job in publishing again, but finds no one wants to hire her so she lies and says she is 26. The lies spiral out of control leading to hijinx and humor while she navigates work, friendship, and romance.
Next week we’ll be sharing our most anticipated books for the rest of 2018, so stay tuned!
