It is finally snowing where I live and I could not be happier. I love Christmas and have been waiting for it for months, but I know a lot of people are mourning the loss of sunshine and warmth. In honor of you all, I'm doing the Sunshine book tag today, created by the lovely Chloe at The Elven Warrior.
What is a book that makes you feel all warm and light inside?
The Gentleman's Guide to Vice and Virtue by Mackenzi Lee
This is an interesting question for me, because most of the books that make me feel the happiest are the ones that switch from laughter to tears within pages of each other. I'm picking Gentleman's Guide though because it was such a fun and hilarious book the entire way through. It had some deep and sad moments, but it really left me smiling.

What is a book where the setting really shines through?
Wild Beauty by Anna-Marie McLemore
Anna-Marie McLemore's books have a beautiful property to them that make them feel like they could be taking place anywhere and in any time. Wild Beauty, however, has a vivid and beautiful setting that is truly an independent character in the story. The gardens where the characters live and work not only drive the plot, but also add something amazing to the lyrical descriptions that Anna-Marie always excels with.

Who is a character that you consider a ball of sunshine?
Mark Blackthorn from The Dark Artifices
I have a weakness for soft and sunshiney characters so there are so many options for this question. I think my current favorite though is Mark Blackthorn from Cassandra Clare's books. He is sweet and sincere, even if he's sometimes a little bit out of touch. He deserves only good things and I am crossing my fingers that he gets happiness in the last book.

What is your favorite book that features a hot setting (i.e. a desert or a tropical forest)?
Mammoth by Jill Baguchinsky
I had trouble coming up with something for this question, but I think Mammoth fits the bill pretty well! The book takes place in Austin, Texas which is a pretty hot climate as far as the United States goes. In addition, the heat and the fact that the main character is constantly working in the sun as part of an archeology dig really plays into the plot and her ability to dress and present in the way that is most comfortable for her.
