Kitty [she/her]

Hi friends!
I'm Kitty, a very tired student and the founder of Jellyfable. I started this blog because I love books and have opinions. Many opinions. You would not believe how many opinions. I’m also in love with the idea that reading is no longer a solo activity. I love the communities that form around books and want to help create one where everyone feels welcome.

I’m a college senior studying Marketing and Design. I love green tea, cookie dough ice cream, irises, rainy days, frappes, and soft blankets. I always judge a book by its cover but sometimes read it anyway. Sometimes.

Favorite Book: A Gathering of Shadows by V.E. Schwab
Favorite Authors: Victoria Schwab and Leigh Bardugo
Favorite Genres: Historical Fantasy and Magical Realism
Guilty Pleasure Reads: The Shadowhunter Chronicles
Preferred Reading Snacks: Tea and chocolate chip cookies
Favorite Tropes and Themes: Found family, ensemble casts, and any books with LGBT+ or disability representation

Dani [they/them]

Hail and well meet fellow page turners!
I am the newest jelly Dani, a non-binary, they/them-using, absolute voracious reader and now blogger. I hold a Bachelor’s degree in English Literature with a focus on Victorian and Young Adult Lit, which, I know, is a very interesting combination. I drink way too much tea and am always searching for an outlet to enjoy books with others, analyze their nuances and fascinating tapestries, and also scream about stories. Catch me indulging in Girl Scout Cookies (thin mints all the way), buying books when I already have so many on my shelves I haven’t read yet, and absolutely littering all my pages with colorful book tabs. I’m also a huge fan of anime, manga, and intricate magic systems.

Favorite Book: The Song of Achilles by Madeline Miller
Favorite Authors: Victoria Schwab, David Levithan, and Shaun David Hutchinson
Favorite Genres: YA (yes, it’s going here), Victorian Lit (this too), and High Fantasy
Guilty Pleasure Reads: The Raven Cycle series and Howl’s Moving Castle
Preferred Reading Snacks: Tea and popcorn (with a spoon)
Favorite Tropes and Themes: LGBTQ+ anything, Artificial intelligence, the “reluctant hero”, also magic. I love magic anything, man.
